The Travelers’ Choice Awards, an annual accolade, celebrates destinations, accommodations, and restaurants with exceptional service quality. The awards are determined based on millions of reviews and feedback from international travelers on Tripadvisor.

On January 9, Tripadvisor, headquartered in the United States, officially announced the results for the first category of its 2025 awards, titled "Best of the Best Destinations."

This category features five main subcategories: Top Destinations, Trending Destinations, Culture Destinations, Food Destinations, and Honeymoon Destinations.

Two new subcategories were also introduced this year: Solo Travel Destinations and a special 25th Anniversary Destinations category, celebrating Tripadvisor’s milestone in honoring top destinations for 25 years.

Hanoi: A harmonious blend of modernity and tradition

Ranked 7th in the Top Destinations category, Hanoi earned high praise for its unique blend of modern vibrancy and historical charm.

Tripadvisor highlighted Hanoi’s lush parks, serene lakes, and open spaces that allow locals and visitors to connect with nature. The capital’s over 600 ancient temples and pagodas provide rich cultural experiences for international tourists.

Additionally, Hanoi secured 2nd place in the "Top 10 Culture Destinations" category, showcasing its global cultural significance.

Hoi An: A charming gateway to the past

Hoi An, placed 11th in the Top Destinations list, is celebrated for its well-preserved architecture and nostalgic way of life.

Visitors to Hoi An can explore landmarks such as the Japanese Covered Bridge, Quan Cong Temple, and the dreamy Hoai River, where lantern-lit boat rides create a magical experience. The town’s fast and affordable bespoke tailoring services also leave a lasting impression on international visitors.

Hoi An’s romantic allure earned it 4th place in the "Top 10 Honeymoon Destinations" for 2025, further cementing its global appeal.

Ho Chi Minh City: A thriving urban hotspot

Representing Vietnam in the Trending Destinations subcategory, Ho Chi Minh City stands out as a dynamic and bustling metropolis.

Key attractions include iconic landmarks such as Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, the War Remnants Museum, and Jade Emperor Pagoda, famously visited by former U.S. President Barack Obama in 2016.

The 2025 Travelers’ Choice Awards are based on reviews and ratings submitted on Tripadvisor from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024.

With Hanoi, Hoi An, and Ho Chi Minh City earning spots in prestigious categories, Vietnam continues to establish itself as a must-visit destination on the global travel map.
