Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem District has announced special schedule adjustments to the operation of Hoan Kiem Lake walking street and the surrounding Old Quarter pedestrian zones during the upcoming national holidays.
In celebration of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (April 10 on the lunar calendar), the Hoan Kiem pedestrian area will be open for four consecutive evenings - from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4 until midnight on Monday, April 7.
Later this month, the pedestrian streets will reopen during the fourth week of April for the long Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1) holidays.
Due to a compensatory workday scheduled for Saturday, April 26 - meant to extend the national break - the walking street will only operate during the evening of Saturday, April 26 through Sunday, April 27.
However, during the first week of May 2025, the walking street area around Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi’s Old Quarter will extend operations to five evenings in celebration of the April 30 and May 1 holidays. Activities will run from 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30 to midnight on Sunday, May 4.
