At 4 PM on September 7, Typhoon Yagi began to significantly affect Hanoi, with intense rainfall and powerful gusts of wind making it nearly impossible for motorcyclists to move. Many riders had to stay stationary in the middle of the street to prevent their bikes from toppling over.
The storm caused substantial disruptions in various parts of the city. On Xa La Street in Ha Dong District, vehicles, including both cars and motorbikes, struggled to pass through the intersection near the CT4A building and New House apartment complex. Trees along the road were uprooted, blocking traffic and exacerbating congestion.
In Thanh Xuan District, the storm's impact was evident as several houses experienced roof damage.
The severe weather has caused widespread difficulties, with ongoing efforts to clear debris and manage the resulting traffic disruptions. The storm's intensity has left many parts of Hanoi grappling with the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi.
