VietNamNet Bridge – Being arrested by the border guard forces, three fishermen said while catching squid, they picked up 25 bags with iPads, cameras and cell phones in the sea.




At around 3am on January 18, while being on patrol in the Do Son waters, Hai Phong, the border patrol forces discovered a boat which was fully loaded of goods but did not have a number plate.

This boat, about 3 tons in tonnage, was controlled by Mr. Pham Van Khien, 45, from Doan Xa commune, Kien Thuy District, Hai Phong, with three people on board.

Inspecting the boat, the border guard forces discovered a large amount of electronic items hidden in 25 black sacks including cameras, mobile phone and iPads, without any document accompanied.

The smuggled goods are determined to be worth more than a billion dong.

The boat owner, Khien, claimed that at around 1am on January 18, while catching squid in the waters near the Dau island, Do Son, they detected these sacks, containing electronic items, drifting at sea.

The fishermen fished out these sacks. On the way home, they were detected by the border guards. The goods were seized.
