The new Hateco Hai Phong terminal allows direct export to Europe and the U.S., positioning the North as a key logistics hub.
The city targets over 10 million visitors in 2025, including more than 1 million international arrivals.
The area will be part of a 20,000-hectare economic zone built by the southern coast of the city.
Chief Financial Officer of Jeil Group Kim Eun-sook said the Jeil Logistics 1 project will provide a logistics warehouse, as well as a core infrastructure in the supply chain and distribution sector in Vietnam.
The city has proposed a 6,000 billion VND fund to support civil servants and public employees who voluntarily retire or resign, with 4,500 billion VND designated for education and healthcare workers.
Hai Phong has officially launched its 20,000-hectare Southern Coastal Economic Zone, a multi-sector hub expected to attract $40 billion in investment and establish the city as a global maritime and logistics leader.
