A festival with the theme “Great Central Highlands - Convergence of Quintessence” will take place from November 29 to December 1 in Kon Tum city, Kon Tum province with the participation of 5 provinces, including Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, and Gia Lai.
On the afternoon of November 16, the organizing board of the first Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival of Ethnic Groups in the Central Highlands 2023 held a press conference to provide information about the event.
According to the plan, participating delegations will exchange, promote, and compete in many categories such as: Performing and introducing excerpts of festivals and rituals of traditional cultural activities; showcasing and promoting local traditional cultural products; Displaying and introducing traditional cuisine; organizing festival and costume performances of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands.
Other activities will include: "Cultural characteristics of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups" exhibition; photo exhibition of the unique cultural colors of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands; competitions for 5 sports of tug of war, stick pushing, slingshot, fat pole climbing and sack jumping; organizing tours and sightseeing routes to promote and introduce the festival and the beauty of the land and people of the Central Highlands.
Participating delegations will display and introduce their traditional cuisine, perform in cultural festivals and costume performances of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands, and compete in 5 subjects - Tug of war, stick pushing, slingshot, fat pole climbing and sack jumping.
The exhibition "Cultural characteristics of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups" will introduce and display cultural characteristics of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands through images and artifacts, costumes, ethnic musical instruments, and typical cultural products. Along with that, there is an exhibition of photos of the unique cultural colors of ethnic groups in the Central Highlands, accompanying the development of the country.
This is a large-scale festival in the Central Highlands, organized for the first time to create an environment for exchange, learning, and increasing solidarity and friendship between provinces and ethnic groups in the Central Highlands.
The event aims to honoring and promoting the value of traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups, contributing to building an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in identity, meeting the requirements of sustainable development.
Preparations for the festival have been underway, basically ensuring good conditions for the festival to take place successfully.
