VietNamNet Bridge – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked local leaders to pay more attention to combating corruption while stressing the need to ban giving and taking gifts during the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet).

In his speech at a teleconference between the Government and localities throughout the nation in Hanoi on December 28, PM Phuc emphasized that the fight against corruption should come from the grassroots level to create drastic and visible changes.

He also praised the sustained efforts by ministries and agencies such as the Ministries of Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Construction to cut down business conditions.  

The cabinet leader said it is imperative to stay abreast with the fourth industrial revolution with a focus on improving productivity and making e-cards to streamline administrative procedures for the people.

At the conference, local representatives contributed opinions to solutions and tasks set by ministries and agencies. 

A number of reports concerning business climate improvement, social welfare policies, capacity to access the fourth industrial revolution, administrative reform, e-Government, the settlement of petitions and complaints, and the anti-corruption work were also presented at the conference.

The two-day conference is designed to evaluate the national socio-economic performance in 2017 and outline key solutions and tasks for next year.
