Then in the second match with China’s Lu Yijie, he triumphed again to top the rankings.

His teammate Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son beat China’s Li Xueyi but was defeated by Malasyia’s Yeoh Li Tian.

Bao Khoa (Vietnam) also beat China’s No.3 Yu Yangyi.

Wang Chen (China) is scheduled is the GM’s next opponent in the third round of the tournament.

This year’s chess championships has attracted 105 chess players from 13 countries competing in nine rounds following the Swiss system.
