
China's People's Daily featured Xi Jinping's visit on the front page of its April 15 edition, detailing the various activities he took part in while in Vietnam.
"President Xi Jinping acknowledged that Vietnam has achieved remarkable progress and continues to elevate its international standing. China congratulates Vietnam on these achievements," the paper reported. "Beijing remains steadfast in its policy of friendship with Vietnam, always treating the country as a top priority in its neighborhood diplomacy."
Xinhua News Agency also provided comprehensive coverage of Xi's activities during the visit and emphasized the significance of strengthening bilateral trade ties.
Citing Xi’s remarks, Xinhua noted, "China's vast market is always open to Vietnam. The two nations must bolster cooperation to ensure the stability of the global free trade system. A small boat cannot withstand turbulent waves alone - only through cooperation can we remain steady and go far."
Chinese news outlet Chinanews emphasized that "Vietnam is the first country President Xi Jinping visited in 2025." The report noted that the trip bolstered political trust and injected new momentum into bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
The UK’s Guardian newspaper praised the signing of 45 cooperation agreements between China and Vietnam, describing them as a significant step toward enhancing economic collaboration. According to the outlet, these agreements open up new opportunities for market exploration and trade development for businesses on both sides.
Meanwhile, US-based CNN described Vietnam as China’s largest trading partner in Southeast Asia. The outlet highlighted that the primary purpose of President Xi's visit was to further tighten bilateral ties and reinforce the strategic partnership between the two countries.
