VietNamNet Bridge – Female Nguyen Thi Mai Hung won the National Junior Chess Tournament's blitz category for U20 boys yesterday, July 22.

Hung, 19, the only female among 22 entrants, has an Elo rating of 2225. She was seeded No 2 behind Nguyen Van Hai (2326).

Hung, from northern Bac Giang Province, lost the first two games but came back with one draw and six wins for seven points.

Hung's teammate, Hoang Thi Nhu Y, won the women's competition.

Nguyen Tan Thinh of Ben Tre took the U17 title, with 2013 Asian U16 gold medalist Tran Tuan Minh in second.
