The massive snake mascots at the entrance of Nguyen Hue Flower Street for Tet 2025 have become a centerpiece attraction, drawing crowds of Ho Chi Minh City residents and tourists who eagerly stop to take photos.

This year’s Nguyen Hue Flower Street, themed “A Beautiful Homeland, Joyful Spring,” will open to the public from 7 PM on January 27, 2025 (28th Lunar December) until 9 PM on February 2, 2025 (5th Lunar January).

Highlight: The iconic snake mascots

The most striking feature of this year’s flower street is the pair of snake mascots, Ngân Tỵ and Kim Tỵ, symbolizing the Year of the Snake.

According to organizers, Ngân Tỵ measures 25 meters in length, while Kim Tỵ stretches to 42 meters. Their intertwined bodies coil three times to form a base over 11 meters wide and 6 meters tall.

Approximately 70% of the materials used to create the snakes are environmentally friendly. Their heads and underbellies are crafted from painted pressed bamboo sheets, while their backs are adorned with reflective mica mirror scales.

Ngân Tỵ features around 2,700 scales, and Kim Tỵ boasts nearly 3,600, all meticulously hand-applied. LED lights run along their bellies, creating a shimmering, eye-catching display.

The snakes’ eyes, each with a diameter of 10 cm, are painted to design specifications, adding lifelike details. Behind the mascots, clusters of eco-friendly bamboo trees enhance the natural aesthetic.

Additional features of the flower street

Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2025 is nearing completion, with final touches being added to ensure the display is ready for the opening.

Among the highlights this year are two “Bông” robots, each standing 3 meters tall and weighing 500 kilograms. The robots feature steel frames, foam exteriors, and motors that allow them to move their arms and heads. Equipped with interactive screens, the robots are designed to engage with visitors, providing a futuristic and playful touch.

Another grand feature is the installation titled “Spring Drops from the Earth.” Resembling a cross between a honeycomb and a cave, the structure is made from thousands of woven bamboo panels used to form its ceiling and 8-meter-tall columns. Covering nearly 1,000 square meters, this unique installation is nearing completion.

The flower street also incorporates a massive floral display, using approximately 109,000 baskets of flowers of various types to create vibrant and colorful backdrops for visitors.

Construction of the flower street will continue until noon on January 27, ensuring the display is ready for the public. This annual tradition remains a highlight of Tet celebrations in Ho Chi Minh City, delighting locals and tourists with its creativity and festive spirit.
