VietNamNet Bridge – While preparing to shroud their "child," a family in Krong Cho District, Gia Lai province received a phone call from the “child,” saying that he was "still alive."
At night on July 10, three young men, all 24 years old, including Khoa (from Ha Tinh province who has just graduated from the Gia Lai Agriculture and Forestry University), Hoang and Hieu (students of the Gia Lai vocational training school) drove motorbike to a restaurant in Pleiku City, Gia Lai for drink. More than an hour later, because of being too drunk, Hoang left the restaurant first, without noticing that he lost his cell phone.
Later the two others also rode a motorcycle to return home. Driving at high speed, they crashed into a taxi in the opposite direction at an intersection in Pleiku city. One of them died on the spot for traumatic brain injury. Due to the victim's face was completely disfigure and he did not take personal papers with him, the authority had to wait for the other victim to regain his senses to verify the identity.
At the Gia Lai Hospital, with a broken arm, Hieu – who was still drunk - told the police that the dead victim was Hoang, in Krong Cho District. Immediate the police called Hoang’s family to the hospital to take the body.
Hoang Anh's brother and sister went to the hospital to receive the body of their brother while other family members prepared everything for the funeral at home.
On the morning of July 11, Hoang’s family took the body home for burial. After the body was cleaned and was about to be shrouded, the father received a call from a strange number. After receiving the call, he yelled to people that Hoang is still alive and the corpse is not his son.
The family hurriedly carried the corpse back to the clinic. Now, the corpse was identified as Khoa and the victim's family identified their relative.
"Due to the face of the corpse being disfigured, the police had determined that it was Hoang. Moreover, the figure and the clothes of the death were very similar to Hoang’s so we thought that the dead man was my brother. We went to the motel to take Hoang’s luggage but we did not see him there. We also could not call him so we were surer that the dead man was Hoang," Hoang’s brother explained.
