On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also met with representatives of the overseas Vietnamese delegation.

With around six million Vietnamese living in over 130 countries, the diaspora is considered an inseparable part of the nation and a crucial bridge between Vietnam and the world. In 2024, remittances sent by overseas Vietnamese amounted to approximately $16 billion.

The National Assembly has enacted policies to facilitate investment and business opportunities for both domestic and overseas Vietnamese.

Many legislative measures have been introduced to encourage expatriates to return and engage in production, business, and social activities.

Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized the importance of leveraging the expertise of overseas Vietnamese to contribute to Vietnam’s new era of accelerated development, particularly in legislation and policymaking.

He called on the diaspora to play a leading role in fostering international collaboration, technology transfer, and innovative entrepreneurship.

He also urged them to preserve and promote Vietnam’s cultural heritage globally, including maintaining the Vietnamese language and spreading traditional cultural values.
