The 8th session of the 13th National Assembly (NA) opened in Hanoi on September 8 during which full time NA deputies will dilate on six draft laws.
They are the Law on NA Organization (revised), the Investment Law (revised), the Corporate Law (revised), the Housing Law (revised), the Social Insurance Law (revised) and the Law on organization of the National Assembly (revised).
Law making work related to the implementation of 2013 Constitution is the focus of the 8th session. Accordingly, 17 out of 30 draft laws will be adopted-the largest-ever number of approved draft laws.
In his speech, NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung emphasized that the six draft laws have an impact on many aspects of social life and the approval of these bills is of great significance for ensuring the people’s rights.
"We should concentrate attention on quality rather than quantity. These laws should be adopted when their quality are ensured”, the top legislator noted.
Immediately after the opening, under the chair of NA Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu, deputies gave opinions on the Law on organization of the National Assembly (revised).
At the earlier session, NA deputies underscored the need to revise the law and agreed upon much of the content of the bill. Additionally, they also contributed many ideas to revamp this law.
