An art exhibition is displaying around 100 paintings created by eight journalists and photographers in HCM City until November 5.
The exhibition was launched on October 27 at the HCM City Fine Arts Association in District 3’s 218A Pasteur Street.
The paintings were drawn with a wide range of materials like oil paint, acrylic and watercolour paint. They cover an extensive array of styles and topics such as portraits, still-life, autumn sceneries and satire.
Most of the artists are more than 60 years old, greatly skilled in their respective fields and only have a few years of experiences in painting.
Paintings were also sold to raise money for the Việt Nam News Agency’s fund for Agent Orange victims.
Nguyễn Hồng Nga, photographer, said that the exhibition was organised to promote the passion of art within journalists and colleagues, and encourage them to make more contribution to society.
Huỳnh Văn Mười, chairman of the HCM City Fine Arts Association, said that he greatly appreciated the participating artists’ passion for paintings and helping the unfortunate, as well as regarded the quality of the paintings highly. — VNS
