Duong Anh Vu is considered the candidate for the championship.

This is the second time the Binh Duong Radio and Television Station holding the event, with some differences from the first. If the first tournament in 2012, players competed in both three-cushion and one-cushion carom billiards categories, but this time, in order to increase the attractiveness, only one category - three-cushion billiards - will be held.

The organizer has also invited four world leading players to the event, including Tatsuo Arai (Japan) – 2003 world champion, Francisco Dela Cruz (Philippines) - SEA Games 26 silver medal winner, Takeshima (Japan) and Rudy Hasan (Indonesia).

The best players of Vietnam will participate in the event, such as current national champion Truong Quang Hao, Duong Anh Vu, Tran Dinh Nai, Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Quoc Nam...

This is a chance for Vietnamese players to practice before the 27th SEA Games which will be held in Myanmar later this year. After this tournament, the organizer can proceed to organize the Asian championships next year.

The champion will win the trophy and VND15 million ($700) of cash, VND10 million for the second and VND5 million for the third player. There are also other prizes.

The games will take place at the Lucky Square conference center in Binh Duong New City and will be televised live on BTV channel.
