According to Mr. Hoang Anh Ngoc, Chairman of Tay Tra District, the district issued ID cards to Thanh and Loan, added them into the family book of Mr. Ho Van Tri (Thanh’s son) in Tra Nga Village, Tra Phong Commune. In addition, the district granted 100 m2 of land and VND100 million ($5,000) to build a house for Thanh and Loan, near Tri’s house.

Three days ago, the father and son were transferred from Tay Tra District Clinic to Quang Ngai General Hospital. Doctors said that they were debilitated and need special care for recuperation. Thanh was detected with suprarenals but they are still small so he does not need surgery right away. It is expected that in the next few days, they can live the hospital. However, the two men barely said a word because they missed their home in the jungle.

Concerning Mr. Ho Minh Lam, Thanh’s nephew, burning two huts in the jungles, Tri said he "cannot believe it's true." When taking his father and brother home, Tri reminded Lam to not burn the huts because these are the keepsakes that were attached to his father and brother for more than half of their lives.
