The foreign minister made the suggestion while receiving Chargé d'Affaires of the Polish Embassy in Viet Nam Maciej Duszynski in Ha Noi on Monday.

Bui also asked the Polish side to create favorable conditions for arrangement of flights to repatriate Vietnamese from Poland.

He took the occasion to express thanks to the Government of Poland for having opened its border and providing shelters and other necessities to nearly 2,000  Vietnamese citizens who have reached Poland from Ukraine.

Bui also treasured Poland's donation of 1.4 million AstraZeneca vaccine doses, eight tons of medical supplies and equipment worth US$4 million to help Viet Nam In the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

For his part, Maciej Duszynski highly valued the Vietnamese Government's efforts in protecting its citizens, including the prompt arrangement of the first repatriation flight.

He said that the Polish Government is offering favorable conditions for citizens from other countries, including those from Viet Nam, to enter Poland from Ukraine.

Poland will also offer assistance for Viet Nam to conduct flights to evacuate Vietnamese people from Poland.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are about 7,000 Vietnamese people living and working in Ukraine.

At least 2,500 people have travelled to Ukraine's neighboring countries, including Poland, Romania, Hungary, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Viet Nam sent the first aircraft to Romania to bring home 283 citizens and the next flight is scheduled on March 10 to evacuate 270 others from Poland./.
