The South China Morning Post (SCMP), a prestigious and long-established Hong Kong-based newspaper, recently published an article praising Ninh Binh, Vietnam’s breathtaking destination often referred to as the “inland Ha Long Bay.”
Located about 100 km south of Hanoi, Ninh Binh captivated SCMP journalists with its stunning landscapes, which they described as “no less impressive than Ha Long Bay.”
A hidden gem of Vietnam
In Trang An, the heart of the vast Ngo Dong River delta, the foreign reporters were left in awe of the natural beauty surrounding them.
Seated in traditional rowboats, they were guided through towering limestone cliffs, lush forests, and winding cave systems - offering an experience of tranquility and wonder.
"Unlike Ha Long Bay, which is bordered by the sea, Trang An has no cruise ships and is far less crowded," noted Quý Vũ, the group’s tour guide.
The SCMP team explored some of Trang An’s most renowned attractions, including Thanh Truot Cave, Suoi Tien (Fairy Stream), and Dia Linh Mountain before heading to the historic Hoa Lu Ancient Capital and Mua Cave.
SCMP was particularly impressed by the panoramic views from Ngoa Long Peak at Mua Cave, calling it “one of the most beautiful landscapes in Vietnam.”
