VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese have expressed their disappointment on sci-tech forums about the newly launched Apple’s super-products. iPhone 5C is believed to be too expensive, while iPhone 5S still use the 4 inch screen.

iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S have officially been launched into the market with the designs and features like the ones described before in rumors.

The only thing which did not turn realistic is that the rumored 128GB version is not available.

The representatives of mobile phone distribution networks in Vietnam prove to be unoptimistic about the fate of iPhone 5C in Vietnam.

Nguyen Van Quan, the manager of CellphoneS, said though iPhone 5C, with the plastic cover, the configuration equal to that of iPhone 5 and the selling prices of VND15-16 million for 16GB version, which is even higher than iPhone 5 16GB, would be unsalable.

Mai Trieu Nguyen, Director of the Mai Nguyen network, also said iPhone 5C has many problems. It uses the configuration of iPhone 5, has colorful covers which do not show the typical character of Apple, and may make people mistake iPhone 5C for Nokia Lumia.

Nguyen went on to say that iPhone 5C would be salable if it has the competitive selling price of less than VND10 million which allows the product to defeat other rivals in the competitions.

Sources said that the iPhone 5C 16GB has the selling price of $549 in the world market, or VND11.6 million. This means that it would be priced at VND15 million in Vietnam. The price is believed to be unattractive.

Only Tran Quang Anh, Director of Nhat Cuong distribution chain, keeps cautious when talking about iPhone 5C. He said it’s too early to say if the product would be favored by Vietnamese.

“iPhone 5 was once criticized by the Vietnamese when it hit the market. However, iPhone 5s still have been selling well,” Anh said.

“I don’t think Apple will do a foolish thing. Everything is still ahead,” he added.

About iPhone 5S, Nguyen said iPhone 5S does not show big changes in the design, but it has considerable improvement in configuration.

“While there were no big configuration improvements in the previous generations of iPhones, iPhone 3GS over iPhone 3G, iPhone 4S over iPhone 4, there are big differences between iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S,” Nguyen explained.

According to Nguyen, iPhone 5S uses A7 chip which allows the processor speed to be higher by five times, provides fingerprint recognition security solution, f/2.2 flash, stronger flash.

“If the iPhone 5S had larger screens, they would be more perfect,” Nguyen noted.

The disappointment of the Vietnamese consumers has been reflected in the comments on sci-tech forums. “4 inch screen again. This means that I still have to surf on Internet and play games in inconvenience,” Hoang Tuan, a third year student wrote.

“I’d better use Galaxy Note II with large screen of over 5 inches. As iPhone 5S does not have the expected large screen, I would have to wait for the day iPhone 6 hits the market,” Vo Lan, an office worker said.

iPhone 5 remains “hot” in the Vietnamese market. Analysts believe the price would decrease by no more than VND1 million.
