VietNamNet Bridge – In an interview with reporter Matt Roebuck of the Myanmar Times in Myanmar several days ago, striker Le Cong Vinh – captain of the Vietnam national football team - announced that he would retire next year and the AFF Cup 2016 would be his last AFF.

In an interview in English with this reporter, Cong Vinh said he would end his career next year, because he "did not want to continue playing football anymore."
Vinh said this was a very difficult decision, because he loves football, and loves to train and run daily on the football ground
That also means the AFF Cup 2016 will be the last AFF of Vietnam’s top striker Vinh.
Also during the interview with reporter Matt Roebuck, Vinh said in his career, he received many comments, both compliments and criticism but Vinh still thought that he was part of Vietnam football.
Vinh emerged as a football star in 2003, at the JVC international soccer tournament, the start-up event for the Vietnam U23 team before the 22nd Southeast Asian Games.
AFF Cup 2004 was the first Southeast Asian football champion of Cong Vinh, when he was 19 years old. If he attends the AFF Cup 2016, it will be his 6th AFF Cup, breaking Le Huynh Duc’s record of 5 times.
