The program "AI Accelerator Challenge 2021” (AAC 2021), organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, with funding and support from the Aus4Innovation, is calling for capital in the five best startups.
Launched in February 2021 with the theme "Artificial Intelligence (AI) during the Pandemic - Adapting to the New Normal", AAC 2021 aims to finding, incubating and developing potential AI technology applications in the fields of finance, commerce, electronics, telecommunications, manufacturing, agriculture, health, education, transportation, and smart city.
The ACC 2021 program is part of the Australian Government's support package with the goal of promoting artificial intelligence to support the response to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as help Vietnam adapt to the new normal.
The organizers have selected the top five projects from 111 entries to call for investment.
These startups include Cyber Apply Vietnam (a solution to block harmful content on the Internet), EM&AI (AI application in customer care), MiSmart (using drones combined with AI to develop smart agriculture), MOVAN ISO (production process automation) and tMonitor (indoor air quality monitoring system).
After a 16-week training course to foster knowledge and experience in business operation to perfect the business model and improve presentation skills for project developers, the organizers recently held an event to call for investment in these projects.
Praised the program and selected start-ups, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy said: “The Vietnamese government is making great efforts to deploy many activities to respond to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, with innovation and application of advanced technologies considered as one of the key factors to increase the resilience of enterprises and recover the economy.”
According to Mr. Duy, in that context, artificial intelligence is one of the core technologies promising to create a revolution in many key socio-economic fields of Vietnam.
Regarding Vietnamese startups, Huy Pham, Investment Director of VSV Foundation, said that although artificial intelligence is a complex and still relatively new technology in Vietnam. Startups in this field can help Vietnam rise up in technology and innovation.
