2. Hanoi T&T held to tie by V-League newbies

Defending V-League champions Hanoi T&T missed the chance to bridge the gap with leaders Thanh Hoa after being held to an unexpected 2-2 home-field draw by V-League newbies QNK Quang Nam this weekend. The team currently rank third in the provisional standings and have fallen seven points behind first-place Thanh Hoa.

3. Hung Vuong An Giang stuck in relegation zone

The 1-3 defeat to Dong Tam Long An on April 20 dropped An Giang deeper towards the bottom of the standings and extended their losing run to 10 games in this year’s V-League season. The team has scored just one point so far following their 0-0 draw against Dong Nai in the second round of play.

4. A sweet round for hosts

Three of the five hosts – Thanh Hoa, Becamex Binh Duong and Dong Tam Long An – earned the full three points this round, while Hanoi T&T and SHB Da Nang each earned one additional point following their respective draws with QNK Quang Nam and Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

5. Cong Vinh scores 101st V-League goal

Striker Le Cong Vinh scored his 101st V-league goal in Song Lam Nghe An’s April 20 match against Becamex Binh Duong, making him the number one scorer in V-League history. Earlier on January 19, Cong Vinh also made history as the first player to reach the 100-goal milestone on the V-League arena, contributing to Nghe An’s second-round 6-1 victory over QNK Quang Nam.
