VietNamNet Bridge – Located on Huynh Khuong An Street in District 10, the Fito Museum is not only known as a place of precious objects of Vietnamese traditional medicine but also for its unique design and carvings.

Covering an area of nearly 600 square meters with five storey’s and eighteen rooms, the museum’s interior is mostly made of wood in traditional style, recreating a typical cultural architecture, such as the gate of the medical temple of the North, banisters of the Imperial City of Hue, and the citadel gate of the Cham people.

The museum has also recreated nearly a whole Chinese traditional herbal pharmacy with drawers used to contain herbs, herb simmering pot, medicinal root slicer, and pestle and mortar.

The museum’s walls have been decorated in lacquer and gilded wood panels while its pillars have carved paintings with the main theme being the daily activities of Vietnamese people in old times.

More than 3,000 objects dating from the Stone Age, including books of the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong, medicinal herbs, tools, and precious remedies are all on display at the museum.
