Around 2,400 baby fish and sea cucumbers have been released to Nha Trang Bay on May 29

The activity was launched by the bay’s management board at Hon Mun Island area on May 29. The event marked World Bio-diversification Day, May 25, and the World Environment Day, June 5.

Dam Hai Van, head of the board, said that among the fish, 1,200 are butterfish; 400 are groupers and 800 are sea cucumbers. The fish costs a total VND30 million (USD1,363).

Nha Trang Bay is home to 220 species of fish and 350 species of coral as well as many other kinds of maritime creatures.

Over the past time, the bay management board has called on agencies, organisations and enterprises in the province to jointly donate the maritime creatures to boost the bay’s bio-diversification.
