VietNamNet Bridge – A large fire at a factory in HCM City's Tan Tao Industrial Park has been successfully stamped out after firefighters spent five hours tackling the blaze.

The fire burns in the fourth floor of the Pou Yen Viet Nam Co.Ltd at Binh Tan District's Tan Tao Industrial Park.

The fire, at a property in Binh Tan District belonging to the Pou Yuen Viet Nam Company, has caused significant damage, leaving the textile firm's employees fearing for their jobs.

Workers on a night shift discovered the fire on the fourth and fifth floors of the building's A4 block at 4am today. The flames then spread rapidly to the next block.

The fire, at a property in Binh Tan District belonging to the Pou Yuen Viet Nam Company, has caused significant damage, leaving the textile firm's employees fearing for their jobs.

The district's Firefighting Police Division joined colleagues from the park's division without delay. Forces were also mobilized from neighbouring districts, including Tan Phu, Hoc Mon and Cu Chi.

The fire may have been started due to a short circuit, according to police who are investigating.

None of the company's 8,000 workers were injured, as only a few staff worked in the building at night.

The fire's smoke plumes from the 4th and 5th floor of the Pou Yen Viet Nam Co.Ltd at Binh Tan District's Tan Tao Industrial Park.

The full extent of the damage has yet to be released, but it is estimated to be very large. The whole 4th and 5th floor of the A4 block were completely destroyed and many machines in the A5 block were damaged.

This is the second fire at the company in the span of a year. The first occurred on May 15 in the 900-sq.m shoe manufacturing workshop of the company.
