Update news financial inclusion
At the seminar ‘Road map to promote financial inclusion in Vietnam’, Director of the Central Institute of Economic Management (CIEM) Tran Thi Hong Minh said that Vietnam is lacking specific and convenient financial services at low cost.
Over 50% of the Vietnamese population does not have a payment account at banks, therefore, mobile money would offer a non-cash payment method for a large base of customers.
By the end of 2025, Vietnam targets to have at least 80% of adults in the country to have bank accounts and the number of non-cash transactions to expand 20 – 25% annually.
