Arkady Dvorkovich, President of the World Chess Federation (FIDE), is currently on a tour of various Asian countries and is due to pay Vietnam a visit on March 13.

Following a trip to China, the FIDE President will come to Vietnam with the aim of supporting, promoting, and developing the sport of chess in the country.
Born in 1972, Arkady Dvorkovich was appointed to the position of Deputy Prime-Minister of Russia from 2008-2012 and went on to become President of the FIDE in October, 2018.
He also served as the Chairman for the local organizing committee ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which was held in Russia.
Overall, the event won universally praise as one of the best organised global sporting events in history.
Following his quick visit to the country, Arkady Dvorkovich, will leave Vietnam to head for the World Team Chess Championship, scheduled to get underway in Kazakhstan on March 14.
