The AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2014 to be hosted by Vietnam in May 2014 will select five best teams for the 2015 World Cup finals in Canada, and Vietnam is considered a potential candidate to secure the fifth berth.
The Vietnamese squad will have three domestic and two overseas training sessions in 2014. They will train in China and the Republic of Korea where they are scheduled to play two friendlies each, including one with the hosts.
VFF has also developed plans for the national men’s football squad to compete at AFF Suzuki Cup 2014, the national men’s Futsal team to join the Asian futsal 2014, and the national U19 team to take part in the 2014 AFC U19 Championship.
The national men’s football squad will play their first friendly match this year with a Korean students team in early March.
It will be a test for the squad before their Asian Cup 2015 qualifier clash against Hong Kong at Hanoi’s My Dinh national stadium on March 5.
