On the evening of April 6, the official fanpage and personal TikTok account of Miss Grand International 2021 Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien, which had over 5.5 million followers, suddenly vanished without notice.
Users attempting to access her Facebook fanpage titled "Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien" were met with the message: “This account cannot be found.” The same notification appeared when trying to visit her TikTok account.
As of now, Thuy Tien’s only visible presence on Facebook is her personal profile. Her latest post remains a public apology following the controversial endorsement of Kera vegetable candy.
The disappearance of her social media accounts came shortly after Colonel Tran Quoc Cuong, Head of the Investigation and Case Evaluation Division of the Ministry of Public Security’s Criminal Investigation Office, publicly confirmed that Thuy Tien was linked to the Kera case.
The ministry’s investigative agency has identified her as connected to the ongoing criminal investigation and pledged to continue probing the matter thoroughly.
Previously, on April 4, the Dak Lak Provincial Police issued a decision to temporarily restrict Thuy Tien from leaving the country for two months, in connection with the Kera scandal. She was also fined 25 million VND (about 990 USD) by the National Competition Commission under the Ministry of Industry and Trade for failing to clearly disclose to consumers that she was paid to promote the product on social media.
Following the scandal, Thuy Tien now faces the possibility of having to compensate for broken advertising contracts - a significant financial blow in the aftermath of the controversy. Her upcoming film project Chot Don (Final Order), scheduled for release in June, has also been negatively affected.
The film’s official fanpage has not posted any updates in recent days. Its latest post, dated March 5, simply introduced the film’s cast. Since the scandal broke, many users have flooded the film’s fanpage with critical and angry comments, with some questioning whether Chot Don can still be released given the controversy surrounding its lead actress. The production team has yet to make a public statement.
