To meet the travel demands during Lunar New Year (Tet) and provide passengers with unique experiences, Vietnam Railways is launching two special “Spring Trains” offering overnight journeys and festive celebrations on New Year’s Eve.

The two trains, SE1 and SE4, will operate overnight on January 28, 2025 (the 29th of the lunar calendar). Train SE1 departs from Hanoi Station at 10:10pm, while SE4 departs from Saigon Station at 7:30pm, both heading toward Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi respectively.

Each train will feature a specially designed “community car,” decorated with artwork reflecting traditional Tet cultural activities such as flower markets and calligraphy writing.

The interiors of these cars will include Tet-themed symbols such as peach blossoms and apricot flowers, representing the traditions of northern and southern Vietnam, creating perfect photo opportunities for passengers. These community cars will also host cultural activities throughout the journey.

Passengers aboard the “Spring Trains” can immerse themselves in various festive experiences. As the clock strikes midnight, they can join a countdown celebration with a sweet buffet, participate in lucky draws with exciting prizes from Vietnam Railways and sponsors, enjoy traditional Tet dishes, and take part in folk games.

A highlight of the journey is a mobile art camp where passengers can collaborate with artists from across Vietnam. Activities include portrait sketching, clay sculpting, and painting sessions, offering a creative start to the new year.

Before boarding, passengers can visit a special art exhibition featuring works by 40 Vietnamese artists at the second floor of Hanoi Station. In addition, a workshop will be held at Saigon Station on the second day of Tet for passengers to participate in interactive painting activities.
