On the morning of February 18, authorities from Thanh Tien Commune, Thach Thanh District, Thanh Hoa Province, confirmed that a tragic incident had occurred in which a woman set herself on fire at her home.

At approximately 6:30 PM on February 17, local authorities received a report that N.T.M. (61 years old, resident of Hamlet 2) had wrapped herself in a blanket soaked in oil and set herself on fire inside her residence.

Neighbors, upon discovering the fire, rushed over in an attempt to extinguish the flames. However, by the time the fire was put out, M. had suffered severe burns and succumbed to her injuries.

Following the incident, local authorities and police sealed off the area and conducted an investigation to determine the cause.

M. lived alone, as her children worked far from home. She had reportedly been suffering from a long-term illness.
