Dozens of ecotourism sites in Mekong Delta provinces are in the peak of tourism season on the lunar New Year.
Cai Be tourist pier in Tien Giang Province sees many boats and a large crowd of local and foreign visitors. They take boat trip to discover the beauty of Cai Be floating market, daily lives of local people, and experience how people exchange goods, fruits and many other commodities on their vessels, and also transport agricultural products.
Wholesalers hang out product samples on a long bamboo so that buyers easily find out where they can purchase the goods they need.
What tourists like most is visits to orchards laden with fruit and tasting delicious, fresh fruits, and enjoying lunches of fresh river food in Chin Thuong Ecotourism Area in Cai Lay District’s Tan Phong island.
Mrs. Tu, the owner of Chin Thuong Ecotourism Area has cooperated with 10 neighboring households that own large gardens to provide an abundance of fruits to travelers.
Vinh Sang Tourist Area on An Binh island in Vinh Long Province’s Long Ho District has also offered many tourist entertainment services, such as crocodile fishing, ostrich riding, grass sliding, taking a swim in river, pedaling swan boats, rowing a boat along river, making banh xeo (crispy fried pancake) and more.
Putting on farmers ‘clothes, visitors will have a chance to join in bailing water out of ditches to catch fish and cook them right away, making Banh tet (Vietnamese Cylindrical Sticky Rice Cake), fruit picking and among.
The owner of Vinh Sang Tourist Area, Le Hoang Vinh said that the business will invest more than VND10 billion to build swimming pool and more entertainment services as well as cooperating with neighboring households to offer more tourist products to holiday-makers.
Local people’s living is improved and better thanks to booming of ecotourism in the Mekong Delta region.
