VietNamNet Bridge – On the afternoon of December 10, an earthquake of 4.6 on the Richter scale occurred at the border between Vietnam and Laos.





Many people living in high-rise buildings in the city of Vinh (Nghe An province) and people in some districts of Ha Tinh province felt shaking.

The Geophysics Institute said that at the quake occurred at 3.56pm, in the Rao Nay zone of fault, near the border of Vietnam and Laos.

"The vibration happened very quickly so initially I thought it was the wind blowing," Ms. Pham Thi Lan, who lives in TECCO building, Vinh City said.

On November 30, a quake of 4.1 on the Richter scale was recorded in this area.

In related news, on December 9, a quake occurred at 9pm in the area of Song Tranh 2 hydropower plant. The Geophysics Institute said the quake was measured at 2.9 on the Richter scale.
