VietNamNet Bridge – Le Van Duan of HCM City's Eximbank team sealed victory on the final day of the Ben Tre Television Cycling Tournament, which finished yesterday, Jan 9.

Duan reclaimed the yellow jersey from teammate Mai Nguyen Hung having missed it at the second stage on Tuesday.
He took the win after timing a total time of 7hr 55.05min over the three stages. Duan also scored the most points out of the 61 racers and so pocketed the green jersey too.

Nguyen Thanh Tuan of Can Tho City won the 110km stage around Ben Tre City. Despite strong pressure from the Eximbank team, Tuan and two teammates broke away from the pack at the 20km mark.

They successfully maintained the lead together until Tuan passed his teammate in the dying stages, finishing the stage in a time of 2:47.20. Le Van Dong and Quach Tinh Toan were second and third, respectively.

The chasing group, including Duan, finished 16sec after them, which was still enough for Duan to triumph overall in the first cycling event of the new year.

His teammate Hung was second overall, followed by Nguyen Thanh Tam of the An Giang Plant Protection.

In the team rankings, Eximbank took top place with a time of 23:46.03. Domesco Dong Thap Pharmacy and An Giang ranked behind.
