Dong Nai Province’s police have arrested Tran Huu Nam, 29, residing in Long Binh Ward, Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai, a former lieutenant of the Bien Hoa City Police Department on a warrant for robbery.

Up to the time of the arrest, Nam had avoided from the warrant for more than nine years. The true face of this man was just defined after he had a fight against a fruit seller at the Tan Mai Market in Bien Hoa City in January 2013.

According to Tan Mai ward police, Nam had a fight with a fruit seller when he went there to purchase durian. The case was reported to Tan Mai ward police. Nam’s personal record was then examined, through which the police determined that Nam is a subject to a warrant for robbery in 2004.

It is known that Nam led a robbery gang in Long Binh Ward, Bien Hoa City. He was prosecuted and hunted by the Bien Hoa police in 2004.

After more than one year hiding himself in La Nga Commune, Dinh Quan District, Dong Nai Province, Nam was recruited as a service police officer and was assigned to work in Long Thanh district police bureau.

The same year, he became a student of the Police Training School. After graduation, he was recognized as an official policeman and assigned to the Judicial Protection and Assistance Police Division of the Dong Nai Police Agency.

In early 2011, he was assigned to Dong Nai’s 113 police task force. In late 2012, he joined the Bien Hoa City Police Department as a lieutenant.

After Nam was arrested, the Dong Nai Police Agency has not explained why a wanted man could become a police officer.
