Con Co is an island in Vinh Linh District, Quang Tri Province in central Vietnam, about 30 km from the coast.
From Cua Tung beach, visitors can also see the green island of Con Co rising in the sea. Although it is not too far from the mainland, you will have to go there by a fishing vessel or a naval vessel because there are no passenger ships here.
After about two hours by boat from Cua Viet or Cua Tung ports, you will set foot on the beautiful island, which was formed from a volcano amid the sea millions of years ago.
Like many other islands, Con Co dresses up itself with unspoiled beauty of the vast primeval forests. Coming here, tourists are lost in a museum of nature with basalt shelves and the unique three-layer tropical forest ecosystems on the coral shelf.

The coral reefs in Con Co have high coverage, diversity and are relatively intact, only after the coral reefs in Phu Quoc Island (Kien Giang), Con Dao (Ba Ria Vung Tau) and Hon Mun (Khanh Hoa).
Currently there are up to 109 species of corals in Con Co, many of which are very rare, particularly red coral and black coral. The unique beauty, rarity of the mysteriously black coral reefs surrounding the island is an attractive invitation to adventurous travelers.
Corals here are at the depth of at least 4m and there are more corals in the Southeastern coast of the island. Black corals are no longer abundant and they are usually located at a depth of over 10m deep so you need a little luck to see them.
Con Co is a destination that really fits the nature-loving tourists. After moments diving beneath the blue sea, you can walk for hours exploring the jungle or just simply swim in the cool, blue water at the beach with intact wild beauty.

The rock grounds in Con Co will be interesting for everyone who loves photography for the very unique beauty of round, polished stones which look like huge black pearls on white, smooth sandy beach.
The lighthouse on the island is also an attractive destination, where you can chat with fun and easy soldiers.
To stay overnight on the island, apart form homestay, you can camp on the beach, which is very romantic and memorable. Campfires are the perfect choice for the island that is not connected to the national grid yet.
