In the period of 2011 - 2020, the Standing Party Committee, the Head of the High Command of Vietnam Coast Guard assigned the Coast Guard Training Center to train 316 primary technical staff in the fields of Marine, Engine, Ship Electricity, Cannon, and information.

The center organized three classes of fostering maritime knowledge for 69 officers; two classes fostering professional knowledge and law for 39 trainees; many classes to foster knowledge of national defense and security for 3,029 officers at all levels.
Agencies of the Vietnam Coast Guard have been proactive in scientific research, improving and renovating technical equipment, participating in and organizing competitions at all levels; compiling electronic documents, training plans, models and learning tools for training and coaching activities; combining the application of information technology, science and technology into education and training.
The High Command of Coast Guard also coordinated with the academies and schools inside and outside the Army to train 1,150 officers at all levels; sending 156 officers at all level to overseas training courses; recruiting 141 officers for the Coast Guard forces.
Most of the staff members have strong professional knowledge and expertise, promoting the knowledge that they had been trained.
In 2014, the High Command of Coast Guard established the Coast Guard Training Center. In 2018 the center was upgraded to the Center for Training and Fostering of Coast Guard Skills. Currently, steps are underway to develop a project to establish the Coast Guard school.
