Vietnam’s Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung and his Philippine counterpart, Jesus Yabes, have affirmed to continue promoting the Strategic Partnership between the two countries in the coming time.

During their meeting in Hanoi on March 27, the two side expressed their joy at the flourishing and close development of the bilateral Strategic Partnership in the fields of defence, security, trade, investment, sea and ocean, education and people-to-people exchange.
They discussed issues of common concern, facilitation for the countries’ citizens to live and work in each other’s territory, and other issues relating to citizen protection such as consular visit and citizen assistance when in distress, as well as how to ensure maritime security and safety for Vietnamese ships going through the Philippines’ waters.
They shared experience in the fields concerning international migration, especially protection of rights of migrant workers.
The host and guest assured to support each other in organising international events in 2017 as Vietnam is the host of APEC 2017 and the Philippines is the Chair of ASEAN.
The same day, Deputy FM Nguyen Quoc Dung hosted a reception for Xi Hui, Chinese Consul General in central Da Nang city.
He expressed his hope that Xi Hui will work to promote cooperation between Vietnam and China, especially in investment, trade and tourism, stressing that the Foreign Ministry is willing to support the Chinese diplomat to fulfil her duty in Vietnam.
For her part, Xi Hui affirmed that she will do her best to contributing to stepping up the bilateral relations.
