VietNamNet Bridge - While going from home to work, Mr. Vu Manh Thang, deputy director of Phu Mau power plant in Lao Cai province was washed away.
The accident occurred at noon July 28. Thang, 33, was washed away by a flood while wading through Nhu stream in Liem Phu commune, Van Ban district, Lao Cai province.
By about 2.30pm the same day, the rescue forces found Thang’s body about more than a kilometer from the site of the accident.
Also in Van Ban district, landslides on July 27 on National Highway 279 caused traffic jams on the road from this district to Lai Chau. In the afternoon of July 28, the landslide was cleared. However, because the road is too narrow, the flow of vehicles could only move in one way direction and the direction changed each two hours.
