VietNamNet Bridge – A tropical depression is regaining strength near the Philippines and is forecast to enter the East Sea in the next one or two days.

A tropical depression is heading towards Vietnam, threatening the south-central coast.

At 07.00am on November 12 the depression was swirling around the southern part of the Philippines’ Mindanao Island, packing winds of up to 61kph.
In the next 24 hours, it will be travelling west and north-west at a speed of 25km and moving past the south of the Philippines into the Sulu Sea.
It is likely to become another storm, named Zoraida, the 15th of its kind to hit the East Sea this year, and threaten central and south-central coasts in a couple of days.
The National Committee for Search and rescue and the Committee for Flood and Storm Prevention Control have asked central coastal provinces from Quang Binh to Ca Mau to be well prepared for the new storm.
Typhoon Haiyan has taken 14 lives and left 84 others injured across Vietnam. It has damaged 2,600 houses and submerged more than 50,000ha of rice and subsidiary crops.
