The fire broke out at around 2:37 a.m. on April 13 at a house in alley 14, lane 69 Trung Liet, Hanoi. Upon discovering the blaze, local residents immediately notified authorities.
In response, the Command Information Center of the Hanoi Police Department dispatched six fire trucks and 40 officers and firefighters to the scene. They coordinated efforts with local authorities and residents to extinguish the fire.
When the fire brigade arrived, the flames had engulfed the entire house, a two-story structure with an attic. Residents and officers from Trung Liet Ward Police attempted to contain the fire using portable extinguishers.
Three family members managed to escape via emergency exits on the second floor and rooftop, with assistance from neighbors. However, others remained trapped inside the burning structure.
Despite challenging conditions due to the house’s location deep in a narrow alley, the fire and rescue police force swiftly conducted firefighting and search-and-rescue operations.
By 3:05 a.m., the fire was largely brought under control. Unfortunately, two victims were found dead inside the house.
The three individuals who escaped were identified as Tr.Ph.D. (born 1962), Ng.Th.M.Ch. (born 1960), and Ng.Th.M.C. (born 1968). The two deceased victims were Tr.Ph.N. (born 1990) and Ng.Th.Th.V. (born 1991).
As of 11:30 a.m. today, authorities were still securing the scene.
Speaking with VietNamNet, Le Ngoc Bich, Vice Chairwoman of Trung Liet Ward People’s Committee, confirmed the incident and said that the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
