VietNamNet Bridge – Daniel Gazon will take the baton at a symphony concert of HCMC Ballet and Symphony Orchestra Opera (HBSO) at HCMC Opera House at 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Belgian conductor will bring to city classical fans pieces from the 19th century with influences from Russia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Norway and Poland from the tables of Mikhail Glinka, Antonin Dvorak and Paul Dukas.
The first part will feature Dukas’ Fanfare pour précéder La péri, Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 82 “The Bear” in C major, Jean-Baptiste Lully’s Ballet Suite by Felix Mottl. The second will entertain the audience with Glinka’s Kamarinskaya and Dvorak’s Czech Suite in D major, op. 39.
Gazon since 1985 has worked with all the major Belgian orchestras and has collaborated worldwide. He has a vast symphonic and operatic repertoire, and is widely recognized as one of the foremost specialists in 20th century repertoire. He is equally sought-after as a teacher, and for many years has given master classes in conducting and worked intensively with conservatory orchestras in Belgium, Slovakia, Sweden and Italy.
