Eight international teams, including three first-timers, will compete at the Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2018.

In addition to the host team and the France, the U.S., Italy and Portugal teams, DIFF 2018 will have three teams competing for the first time – Surex Firma Rodzinna from Poland, Vulcan Display Fireworks from Hong Kong, and GFF from Sweden.

Sun Group general director Dang Minh Truong, a member of the organizing committee, said the makeshift stages can accommodate more spectators than last year. Each of the stages has a large LED screen so that spectators can watch the fireworks displays.

Side events like a street parade and new activities are expected to bring more excitement and colors to DIFF 2018, Truong added.

The ninth Danang International Fireworks Festival with the theme “The Legends of Bridges” is expected to wow spectators by the stories about well-known bridges representing love, happiness, passion and peace.

Ticket prices range from VND50,000 (US$2.2) per night for children less than a meter tall to VND2 million (about US$88) for each of the opening and final nights.

DIFF 2018 will take place along the banks of the Han River from April 29 to June 30. The main stages will be located on Tran Hung Dao Street and in the yard of Olalani Riverside Towers.

The Vietnam and Poland teams will perform on April 29 while the France and U.S. teams will come on stage on May 26, and the Italy and Hong Kong teams on June 2. The shows by the Sweden and Portugal teams will take place on June 9.

The final and award ceremony are slated for June 30.
