A fountain worth VNĐ23 billion (US$992,000) at the Nguyen Hue-Le Loi intersection has been functioning since the end of October.
Shaped as a glass lotus flower with surrounding sprinklers, it symbolises people’s solidarity in developing the city and taking it to greater heights, authorities said.
More facelifts are planned for the wide pedestrian area of the boulevard in the coming time, including lighting of the entire street. Viet Nam’s first walking street is 670 metres long and 64 metres wide.
