The Da Nang international marathon 2024 is to run on March 24 with thousands of participants, including foreigners who are either living and working in Vietnam.
As one of the top marathon destinations throughout all of Southeast Asia, the beach track will offer divisions for a men’s and women’s full marathon (42km), a half marathon (21km), a 10km course, a five km FunRun, and a kids’ run (1.5km).
The race was first held back in 2013 and has so far attracted over 90,000 athletes from 65 countries and territories worldwide. This year will mark the 11th edition of the tournament.
In addition, from June 1 to June 9 students from 11 Southeast Asian nations will gather together at the regional student sports festival.
Competitors will participate in six sports, including swimming, basketball, badminton, athletics, pencak silat, and vovinam. Held for the first time back in 2009, the annual festival offers a good chance for Southeast Asian students to gain experience from each other, enhance the quality of physical education, and improve sports spirit.
Hanoi became the first Vietnamese locality chosen to host the Southeast Asian student sports festival back in June, 2013.
This will be the second time that Da Nang will organise the event following its first time in 2022.
