Tourists arrive at Da Nang International Airport for the Lunar New Year holiday.

The city's attractive destinations and improved infrastructure contributed to a record-breaking season, reinforcing its status as a top travel hotspot in Vietnam.

During the Lunar New Year holiday of 2025, Da Nang welcomed over 469,000 visitors, generating more than 1.8 trillion VND in tourism revenue.

On January 31, the Da Nang Department of Tourism reported on the city's tourism activities during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday of the Year of the Snake 2025.

According to the report, the total number of visitors to Da Nang during this period was estimated at over 469,000, marking a 16.7% increase compared to the 2024 holiday and exceeding pre-holiday projections by 3.2%.

Notably, international arrivals reached over 228,000, up 29% from the previous year, while domestic visitors totaled approximately 241,000.

Total tourism revenue in Da Nang was estimated at 1.887 trillion VND, reflecting a 19.4% rise compared to the 2024 Tet holiday.

Increased hotel occupancy and air traffic

The average occupancy rate across accommodation establishments was approximately 50%. In particular, four- and five-star hotels and equivalent properties achieved an occupancy rate of 60-65%, an increase of nearly 10% from the previous year.

Da Nang International Airport reported a total of 1,275 flights arriving in the city between January 25 and February 2, 2025, a 58% increase from the 2024 Tet holiday. On average, the airport handled about 141 flights per day.

Among these, 577 were international flights, representing a 45% rise from the previous year, while domestic flights numbered 698, an increase of 71%.

Cruise tourism and river experiences

During the holiday, two cruise ships docked at Tien Sa Port, bringing 1,800 tourists from the United States and the United Kingdom to explore Da Nang’s renowned attractions, including the Marble Mountains, Linh Ung Pagoda - Son Tra, and the Cham Sculpture Museum.

Additionally, river tours along the Han River remained popular, with an estimated 23,200 visitors participating -an increase of 7% compared to the previous year.

Several attractions saw significant visitor numbers, including Sun World Ba Na Hills, Danang Downtown, the Marble Mountains, Son Tra Peninsula, Mikazuki Water Park, and Than Tai Hot Springs Park.
