The ‘Danang SmartCity’ app has introduced a new feature, "Order Essentials," enabling Da Nang residents to have necessary goods delivered directly to their homes. This feature helps people avoid going out in conditions of heavy rain and flooding due to Typhoon Tra Mi or during subsequent storms and public health emergencies.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on October 27, Typhoon Tra Mi (Typhoon No. 6) made landfall in the provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, and Da Nang.
In preparation for Typhoon Tra Mi, Da Nang's People's Committee issued an urgent directive on October 26, instructing local agencies to implement various safety measures and advising residents to stay indoors from 10 a.m. on October 27.
Speaking with VietNamNet on October 27, Da Nang's Department of Information and Communications shared that the ‘Danang SmartCity’ app has recently added the "Order Essentials" feature, allowing residents to order various necessary items from home, reducing the need to venture out in heavy rain and floods brought by Typhoon Tra Mi.
This feature supports residents during natural disasters, floods, and disease outbreaks. A unique aspect of the “Order Essentials” feature on the ‘Danang SmartCity’ app is that residents can order various essential items from multiple stores or platforms in a single transaction. Moreover, residents using this feature receive free delivery.
Launched in 2020, the ‘Danang SmartCity’ app is a multi-service mobile application that currently provides over 30 smart services and utilities, offering timely notifications, alerts, and access to essential services. These include COVID-19 reporting and control in Da Nang, one-stop documentation lookup, traffic violations, land prices, rainfall tracking, and more.
