The 5-star hotel JW Marriott is under construction in Khue My Ward of Ngu Hanh Son District.

According to the report, Da Nang authorities in October allowed investor Silver Shores Investment & Development Ltd. to hire 300 Chinese technical workers for the construction of the 5-star hotel JW Marriott in Khue My Ward of Ngu Hanh Son District.

The city instructed relevant agencies to facilitate the project contractor - Sichuan Hua Shi Co., Ltd. - to bring Chinese technical workers from the parent company based in Sichuan into the city, in seven phases from December 2015 to August 2017.

The city also approved this firm’s petition to recruit 350 Vietnamese workers.

Da Nang confirmed that it would comply with Vietnam’s regulations and practices in licensing foreign workers.

According to the investment of the JW Marriott Hotel – Silver Shore – this project needs Chinese technical workers because of the following reasons: 1/ The project was implemented slowly because of the language barrier between foreign managers and designers with native workers. 2/ This is a large-scale work, with technical complexity, while most of the local workers don’t meet the requirement and they leave on holiday often, affecting the pace of the project.

Notably, Da Nang authorities detected and expelled 64 illegal Chinese workers at this project.  They entered Vietnam as tourists.
