On the morning of March 25, the Da Nang City People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to improve the drainage system and lay underground communication and lighting cables on four inner-city roads: Phan Chau Trinh, Le Loi, Hoang Dieu, and Ong Ich Khiem (located in Hai Chau and Thanh Khe districts).

The project has a total investment of more than 280 billion VND (11.7 million USD) and is scheduled to be completed between 2024 and 2026.

According to the Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board, the project will upgrade the drainage system, lay underground power and communication lines, replace and add greenery, relocate water supply systems, and install additional fire hydrants along the four streets, covering a total length of 6.94 kilometers.

The project aims to enhance urban aesthetics, improve drainage capacity, support tourism and economic development, and upgrade the quality of transportation infrastructure in central Da Nang. It is expected to boost tourism and attract investors to the city.

Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee, stated that the project serves as a foundation for further infrastructure improvements on other inner-city roads in the future, creating a more modern and appealing urban center that better supports tourism and local residents' needs.

According to Mr. Chinh, this project is located in a densely populated urban area with heavy traffic. To ensure timely, safe, and high-quality execution while minimizing disruptions to traffic and daily life, the project management team must draw on lessons learned from previous projects and maintain strict adherence to regulations.

The chairman also instructed the Department of Construction to dispatch traffic inspection forces to collaborate with local authorities in directing traffic during peak hours to minimize congestion.
